Happy Flag Day!
June 14, 2019
The US flag was adopted by the Continental Congress in 1777. Nearly 140 years later, Flag Day began to be celebrated in 1916 and was established by an Act of Congress. Despite this designation, Flag Day is not an official federal holiday because it wasn't included in the 1968 Uniform Holiday Act. So we say, embrace orphan holidays like Flag Day so they feel loved, too.
